Born in 1985 in rural Northamptonshire, Claire discovered an eye for photography whilst trekking through the Annapurna Range of the Himalayas in 2005. Having originally trained in Dance and Drama at Roehampton University Claire began photographing fellow dancers and actors for performances and headshots whilst also continuing with landscape photography. She expanded her knowledge through meetings with renowned dance and theatre photographers Chris Nash and Hugo Glendenning, two photographers whose work had inspired her throughout life in the dance world. These meetings encouraged Claire to experiment with photography in different environments and lighting and was a strong influence on the her endevours to capture a 'moment' in the movement of a dancer and to embody the feeling of the dance as well as the aesthetics.
Claire's dance photography has now been published on the London Dance Website as well as promotional material for the annual Big Dance event in London and she continues to work in this field as well as now expanding into event photography. ......................
